NO. 12,115

The following Ordinance was introduced by Dawson who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Woods:

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:

An amendment to the Zoning Map to zone a ±0.75-acre tract of land, from being located in Ouachita Parish to the R-4 (High Density Multi-Family Residence) District, in order for the applicant to construct duplexes.

200-206 Martinez Street and 601-605 Chatham Drive

APPLICANT: Gipson J. Properties, LLC (MA 103-22)

WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 4-0-1 majority vote. The applicant wishes to utilize an existing property to be used for duplexes. The R-4 (High Density Multi-Family Residence) District is the appropriate zoning district for these uses.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-34 of the City of Monroe Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to rezone the ±0.75-acres described to R-4 (High Density Multi-Family Residence) District as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.

This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 12th day of April 2022.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  18th, 20th & 22nd day of  April, 2022.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES: Woods, Marshall & Dawson

NAYS: None.

ABSENT: Harvey, Ezernack

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on  26th day of  April, 2022.
