NO. 12,074

The following Ordinance was introduced by Harvey who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Dawson:

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING MONROE TRANSIT SYSTEM TO PROVIDE FREE TRANSPORTATION TO CITIZENS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO:

WHEREAS, the City of Monroe received transit funding from the Federal Transit Administration under THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) ACT; and

WHEREAS, the Federal Transit Administration recommends that transit agencies across the United States provide free transportation for COVID-19 vaccine appointments and 100% of the revenue to be reimbursed through the ARP Grant.

NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED that Monroe Transit is authorized to provide free rides for citizens to COVID-19  vaccinations sites for vaccine appointments.

This Ordinance was introduced on the  27th day of  July, 2021.

Notice published on the  30th day of  July, 2021.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES: Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, Marshall & Dawson

NAYS: None.

ABSENT: None.

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on  10th day of  August, 2021.
