Attention City of Monroe Water System Customers,
Monroe City Ordinance numbers 11,387 and 11,838 were enacted on March 27, 2018, to increase water/sewer rates according to the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI). The new rates are effective for May 1 usage and will be reflected in the June water bill. The current sewer rate will increase from $4.04 per one thousand gallons to $4.20 per one thousand gallons. The current water rate will increase from $4.48 per one thousand gallons to $4.66 per one thousand gallons. This annual increase is based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Schedule of Release for April 2023.
