CITY OF MONROE NO. 12,159
The following Ordinance was introduced by Mr. Harvey who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mrs. Ezernack :
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A DESIGNATED CITY REPRESENTATIVE TO EXECUTE A CONSENT TO ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE FROM CORKS, LLC TO AVFLIGHT MONROE CORPORATION, AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe and Corks, LLC entered into a Contract of Lease dated January 1, 2017, for a certain tract of land at the Monroe Regional Airport, said lease having been approved by Resolution No. 6837 of the Monroe City Council, dated December 13, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Corks, LLC desires to assign its lease to AvFlight Monroe Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the lease requires the written consent of the City of Monroe prior to any transfer, assignment, or other alienation of the lease; and
WHEREAS, the City’s consent to the assignment is conditioned upon AvFlight Monroe Corporation’s execution of an amendment to its existing lease to provide for changes in the descriptions and property leased;
WHEREAS, the Consent to Assignment of Lease is attached hereto and incorporated;
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Monroe, in legal session convened, that Stacey Rowell, Director of Administration, be and she is hereby authorized and empowered for and on behalf of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, to execute said Consent to Assignment of Lease upon AvFlight Monroe Corporation’s execution of the First Amendment to Contract of Lease by and between the City of Monroe and AvFlight Monroe Corporation.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, Marshall & Dawson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 28th day of March , 2023.
