ORDINANCE

STATE OF LOUISIANA                                                                 NO.  12,153               

CITY OF MONROE           

The following Ordinance was introduced by Mr.  Harvey                             , who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Marshall                            :

WHEREAS, Section 3-08(A) of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Monroe establishes the salary of the Mayor;

WHEREAS, the salary of the Mayor has not changed since 2003;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the salary of the mayor established by Section 3-08(A) of the Home Rule Charter for the City of Monroe is hereby changed to one hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000.00) annually.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall be effective on July 1, 2024, and all other provisions of Section 3-08 remain unchanged.

This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 28^th day of February 2023.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  3rd     day of  March             , 2023.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Harvey, Marshall & Dawson

NAYS:            Ezernack & Woods

ABSENT:       None.

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  14th     day of  March            , 2023.
