The following Ordinance was introduced by Ms.  Woods                 , who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Harvey            :

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF A PARCEL OF REAL ESTATE TO THE CITY OF MONROE FROM PATRICIA ANN FONTANA CORLEY, PAMELA RUTH FONTANA HUDSON AND FRANKIE JOE FONTANA, AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO:                                                                                    

WHEREAS,   Patricia Ann Fontana Corley, Pamela Ruth Fontana Hudson and Frankie Joe Fontana desire to donate all of their right, title and interest in that certain parcel of real estate described hereinbelow by an Act of Donation of immovable property, attached hereto and made a part hereof, said property being described to-wit:

DESCRIPTION OF A 0.564 ACRE TRACT OF LAND

Description of a 0.564 acre tract of land situated in a portion of the Northeast ¼ of Section 3, T 17 N – R 4 E, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, further described as follows;

FROM a found 2” pipe at the Northeast corner of Section 3, T 17 N – R 4 E, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, run South 06°00’31” West for 1044.65 feet to a point in the southern right of way line of Frontage Road; thence run North 84°30’55” West along said southern right of way line for 600.00 feet to a found 1” iron pipe and THE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence run South 06°00’32” West for 410.00 feet to a set 5/8” rebar; thence run North 83°59’28” West for 60.00 feet to a set 5/8” rebar; thence run North 06°00’32” East for 409.45 feet to a set 5/8” rebar; thence run South 84°30’55” East along said southern right of way line of Frontage Road for 60.00 feet to a found 1” iron pipe and The Point Of Beginning.

The above-described tract of land is situated in a portion of the Northeast ¼ of Section 3, T 17 N – R 4 E, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, as shown on plat of survey, File Number 8737.2, Plat M-4228.3, as surveyed by Jeffrey M. Messinger, Professional Land Surveyor, containing 0.564 acres and is subject to all existing easements.

            WHEREAS, the above described property is needed by the City of Monroe for future use. 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the Donation from Patricia Ann Fontana Corley, Pamela Ruth Fontana Hudson and Frankie Joe Fontana to the City of Monroe of all their right, title and interest in that certain parcel of real estate described above to be and the same are hereby accepted.

            BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Friday Ellis, Mayor, be and he is hereby duly authorized to accept this Donation on behalf of the City of Monroe.

            This Ordinance was introduced on the  14th              day of June, 2022.

            Notice published on the  17th              day of  June                , 2022.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, Marshall & Dawson

NAYS:            None.

ABSENT:      None.

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  28th     day of  June               , 2022.
