ORDINANCE

STATE OF LOUISIANA

CITY OF MONROE                                                                                    NO.  11,987               

The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs.  Ezernack                        who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Harvey            :

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN EQUIPMENT LEASE AGREEMENT WITH DE LAGE LANDEN PUBLIC FINANCE LLC FOR VMWARE COMPUTER SERVERS AND DATACENTER SWITCHES FOR THE IT DIVISION AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO:__________                   ______________________________

WHEREAS, the City of Monroe has historically leased VMware computer servers and datacenter switches for the IT Division and the current lease has expired and the City desires to enter into a lease agreement with De Lage Landen Public Finance LLC;

WHEREAS, the lease with De Lage Landen Public Finance LLC includes VMware computer servers and datacenter switches for use in the IT Division to improve performance and security;

WHEREAS, the computer servers and switches are on state contract as outlined in the attached document;

WHEREAS, the City desires to finance the purchase of the VMware computer servers and datacenter switches through a three year lease-purchase agreement in the amount of $134,742 wherein the payment under the agreement is $44,914 per year with no finance or other charges associated with the attached Lease Purchase Agreement and said funds have been budgeted.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that  James E. Mayo, Mayor, be and is hereby authorized and empowered, on behalf of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, to execute a lease agreement with De Lage Landen Public Finance LLC as per the terms and conditions of the attached agreement(s) and further authorizing James E. Mayo to sign all documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of the lease agreement.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:             Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark- on conf. call

NAYS:            None.

ABSENT:       None.

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  14th    day of   April              , 2020.
