The following Ordinance was offered by Mr. Echols who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr. Wilson :
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:
An amendment to the Zoning Map to zone a ±1.0 acre tract of land, presently located in Ouachita Parish and more particularly described as follows:
The eastern 146’ x 300’ section of a square of ground in Ouachita Cottonmills, Squares 39 and 40 and otherwise known as 304 Apple Street.
APPLICANT: (MA 114-19, Raymond Whittney)
WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 6-0 vote. This ±1.0 acre tract is presently zoned R-1, Single-Family Residential. The applicant would like to utilize this portion of his property for parking for the use of the existing structures, but it is not zoned for the intended use. The applicant would like to rezone this ±1.0 acre tract from R-1, Single-Family Residential District to B-3, General Business/Commercial District as it is an appropriate commercial zoning classification for the proposed use.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe be amended to zone a ±1.0 acre tract of land, more or less as described above, and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-72 (formerly Section 27-30 (2)) of the City of Monroe Code and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to B-3, General Business/Commercial District as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.
This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 12th day of November, 2019.
NOTICE PUBLISHED on the 15th, 18th & 20th day of November , 2019.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Echols, Ezernack & Wilson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Woods & Clark
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 26th day of November , 2019.
