CITY OF MONROE NO. 11,969
The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs. Ezernack who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr. Clark :
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN IMMOVABLE PROPERTY IN MONROE BEARING MUNICIPAL ADDRESS 1907 GRIFFIN ST. AS NO LONGER BEING NEEDED FOR PUBLIC USE AND AUTHORIZING THE SAME TO BE SOLD TO CHARLON BROWN-PERKINS PURSUANT TO LOUISIANA REVISED STATUTE 33:4712, AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO __ __
WHEREAS, CHARLON BROWN-PERKINS would like to purchase a certain piece of immovable property bearing municipal address 1907 Griffin St., Monroe, LA, and more fully described in the attached copy of the proposed Cash Deed document, and
WHEREAS, the proposed purchase price for 1907 Griffin St., Monroe, LA is $3,800.00. This price consist of the fair market value of $3,500.00 plus the cost of the appraisal, $300.00, by Appraisals Plus, LLC, dated 6/14/2019, a copy of the Summary of Just Compensation is attached hereto for review, and
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe deems said proposal to be in the best interest of the City of Monroe.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the City Council does hereby declare that certain parcel of immovable property bearing municipal address 1907 Griffin St., Monroe, LA and more particularly described in the proposed sale document, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, as being no longer needed for public use.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that James E. Mayo, Mayor, be and is hereby authorized and empowered, on behalf of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, to sell, for cash, to Charlon Brown-Perkins, the above mentioned immovable property bearing municipal address 1907 Griffin St., Monroe, LA under the terms, conditions and for the consideration set forth in the said sale documents attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that James E. Mayo, Mayor, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to execute the said sale documents for and on behalf of the City of Monroe, Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that under the provisions of Louisiana Revised Statute 33:4712 that prior to the final adoption hereof, notice of this Ordinance shall be published in the official journal three (3) times within fifteen (15) days, one week apart and that any opposition hereto must be made in writing, filed with the Clerk of the Council within fifteen (15) days of the first publication.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Ezernack, Woods & Clark
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Wilson and Echols
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 10th day of December , 2019.
