CITY OF MONROE
The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs. Ezernack who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr. Wilson :
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MONROE TO ACQUIRE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY FROM ROM PROPERTIES, LLC, SITUATED IN OUACHITA PARISH WITH A MUNICIPAL ADDRESS OF 1401 STUBBS AVE, MONROE, LA, AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO: ____________________________________________________________
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe would like to facilitate a one stop shop operations and such space to accomplish same is available at 1401 Stubbs Ave, Monroe, LA currently owned by ROM Properties, LLC; and
WHEREAS, Michael A. Graham, MAI prepared an appraisal dated June 20, 2019 with the appraised value at $1,050,000.00. A copy of a portion of the appraisal is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe and ROM Properties, LLC have agreed upon a purchase price of $925,000.00 as outlined in the attached purchase agreement; and
WHEREAS, the funds to purchase this property will come from the insurance proceeds the City received from the 2017 fire at the City Hall Annex building;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINEDby the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened, that James E. Mayo, Mayor, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered for and on behalf of the City of Monroe to acquire the following described property for the sum of $925,000.00, to-wit:
Lots 30 and 31 of Block 7 of Commerce Realty Inc.’s Re-subdivision of Blocks 2, 7 and 10 of Roselawn Addition No. 2, as shown by plat of said re-subdivision which is on file and of record in Plat Book 8, page 42, of the records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.
And
Lots 42 and 43, Unit 2, Re-subdivision of Block 10 of Roselawn Addition to the City of Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, as per plat inn Plat Book 8, page 43, records of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, bearing municipal address 1401 Stubbs Ave., Monroe, LA
IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED, that this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage.
This Ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 27th day of August , 2019.
NOTICE PUBLISHED on August 30th , 2019.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Echols, Ezernack, Woods & Wilson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Clark
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 10th day of September , 2019.
