The following Ordinance was offered by Ms. Woods who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr. Echols :
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:
An amendment to the Zoning Map to rezone a ±1.05 acre tract of land, more or less, from the R-1, Single Family Residential District to the R-4, High Density Residential District, presently located in Ouachita Parish and more particularly described as follows:
3401, 3403. 3405 Johnson Street
APPLICANT: Ivan Thomas (MA 115-18)
WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 5-0-1 vote. The property is presently zoned as R-1, Single Family Residential. The applicant would like to build multi-family structures such as duplexes or townhouses on this property. The R-1, Single Family Residential District does not allow multi-family housing. The applicant would like to rezone the property to R-4, High Density Residential District as this would be the appropriate zoning classification for the intended use.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe be amended to zone a ±1.05acre tract of land, previously described and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-34 of the City of Monroe Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to R-4, High Density Residential District , as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.
This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 11th day of December 2018.
NOTICE PUBLISHED on the 14th, 17th & 19th day of December , 2018.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Echols, Ezernack, Woods & Wilson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Clark
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 26th day of December , 2018.
