EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
STATE OF LOUISIAN
CITY OF MONROE NO. 11,920
The following Ordinance was introduced by Mr. Wilson who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Ms. Woods :
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE FAILURE OF INFLUENT PUMP #3 AT THE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL CENTER AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, influent pumps #3 and #4 at the Water Pollution Control Center (“WPCC”) have failed and are in need of emergency repair; and
WHEREAS, influent pump #4 is covered under warranty and is being repaired; and
WHEREAS, influent pump #3 needs to be repaired immediately; and
WHEREAS, having two influent pumps down at the same time limits the WPCC’s gravity sewer handling which effects the east side of Monroe, including the Town of Richwood, Pecanland Mall, River Oaks and everything east of 165 to Century Link making this an emergency to repair; and
WHEREAS, funds are available through the WPCC’s Repairs and Maintenance account and the warranty which is in place for influent pump #4.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the failure of influent pumps #3 at the WPCC plant is hereby declared an emergency.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and advertised was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Ezernack, Woods & Wilson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Echols and Clark
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 26th day of February , 2019.
