DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION

Utilities

The Utility Operations Division’s mission is to provide quality customer service and confidentiality to the City of Monroe citizens by ensuring every Monroe City water meter is read and billed each month. This Division is also responsible for maintaining accurate information as it relates to customers and other departmental inquiries.

The Utility Operations Division consists of three different areas of service: Customer Service, Billing, and Container Maintenance.

Customer Service is the front line for all customer activity at the City Hall Annex. They help with Monroe City Water Accounts, Property Taxes, Sales Taxes, Occupational Licenses, and Taxicab Certificates.

Billing is responsible for reading all city meters, billing for water sewer, and https://monroela.us/government/departments-divisions/public-works/sanitation, and turning water off/on for nonpayment, new service, and termination of service.

Container Maintenance delivers trash containers, maintains an inventory of the containers, and replaces/repairs trash containers when damaged or stolen.
