Community Development Division Schedules Community Meetings Seeking Input from Residents to Form 5-Year Consolidated Plan
Mayor Jamie Mayo and the Monroe City Council are pleased to join Planning & Urban
Development Director Ellen Hill and the Community Development Division to announce two
upcoming community meetings for Monroe’s HUD funded 5-year consolidated plan. The
Community Meetings are scheduled for 1pm – 3 pm Friday, February 21 and 10am – 12pm
Saturday, February 22, at the City of Monroe Public Safety Center, located at 1810 Martin
Luther King Jr. Drive (U.S. Hwy 165 South).
The Consolidated Plan is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD). The plan is designed to assess and help address affordable housing,
community development needs and market conditions. Input from residents and community
stakeholders will help Community Development officials better identify local priorities and
make data-driven decisions on how to invest HUD Community Development Block Grant funds
to help improve our city.
