CITY OF MONROE

NO. 12,171

 

The following Ordinance was introduced by Mr.  Harvey who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.   Marshall:

ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE AUTHORIZED MILLAGE RATE(S) AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF SPECIAL AND GENERAL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF MONROE FOR THE YEAR 2023:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the following millage(s) are hereby levied on the 2023 tax roll on all property subject to taxation by the City of Monroe:

MILLAGE

General Alimony                                            10.490 mills

Safety Services                                                  1.070 mills

Recreation Facilities                                          1.880 mills

Police Department                                            1.500 mills

Fire Department                                                1.500 mills

LA Purchase Gardens & Zoo                           2.500 mills

Civic Center Complex                                       2.500 mills

Drainage Facilities                                            1.310 mills

Capital Improvements                                       3.260 mills

Airport Improvements                                      1.010 mills

TOTAL                                                                 27.020 mills

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of Ouachita, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2023, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.

THIS ORDINANCE WAS INTRODUCED on the  9th day of  May 2023.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  12th day of  May 2023.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

YEAS: Harvey, Woods & Marshall

NAYS: None.

ABSTAINED: None.

ABSENT: Ezernack & Dawson

And the Ordinance was declared adopted on the  23rd day of  May 2023.
